Whats Up???

Assalam Alaikum It has been long long time when I last posted here. Things have changed a lot. My love for blogging was not diminished but life was taking its toll. I am now a mother of another child and now I have 2 kids.Alhmadulillah. Children demand so much of our time and it is of course their right to seek our attention. We ourselves love and enjoy everyday seeing them grow.I do am really sleep deprived and was too much out of shape but trying my best to reduce baby weight slowly. There is lot to talk about but my elder child is calling me. See you after short break with lot of topics coming their way from my mind.

3 Unbelievingly simple Parenting Ideas

1. Children need a minimum of eight touches during a day to feel connected to a parent. If they’re going through a particularly challenging time, it’s a minimum of 12 a day. This doesn’t have to be a big deal; it could be the straightening of a collar, a pat on the shoulder or a simple hug. 2. Each day, children need one meaningful eye-to-eye conversation with a parent. It is especially important for babies to have that eye contact, but children of all ages need us to slow down and look them in the eyes. 3. There are nine minutes during the day that have the greatest impact on a child: the first three minutes right after they wake up the three minutes after they come home from school the last three minutes of the day before they go to bed We need to make those moments special and help our children feel loved. These are simple, right? Nothing really earth-shattering here. But try it for a month.

Save Time in Cooking and Spend More Time with Allah

I liked this post on facebook so sharing here: For the women who will be cooking this Ramadan, don't cook anything extra,in fact meals should be more simple. Simply put, the whole aim of Ramadan is gaining taqwa and you can't do that if you don't feel the pain of hunger. Don't waste your precious time standing for hours in the kitchen. πŸ’Tips for time utilization in relation to food: πŸ’1- Search fun, simple and quick recipes now and save them for Ramadan. It took me a long time to find quick, simple and good recipes but it was time well spent. πŸ’2- Try and do meals that depend on putting something in the oven or slow cooker that doesn't necessarily need you standing there. πŸ’3- Limit frying as much as possible. It wastes time and is not healthy anyway. πŸ’4- Kids breakfast, lunch and snacks during the day should be healthy but choose no cooking options. Plenty of raw fruit and veggies, healthy smoothies,sandwiches....etc. πŸ’5- Limit extra sweets, so yo...

Aim of Life?

I realize I am so late to coming back to blog, but this is what irritated me whole year, I was having postpartum depression, re organizing home after 2.5 year of pregnancy and being a new mom break, some health issues and what irritated me the most was...I was thinking a lot about my aim of life... I was giving no time to Quran, not reading Islamic stuff, whatever I learned from the Tafseer course before marriage, I was forgetting all. I heard lot of deaths (wont call sudden as death is always a sudden happening, it doesn't warn us before coming). I had this fear (thanks to postpartum depression too) that what if I am also going to die right away and am not regular in prayers, out of touch with Allah and His Religion, just spending days like an animal (no aim...spending days like a machine...) I was  fearful, I was having bad panic attacks, so first thing I tried was sharing my feelings with a friend who herself got panic attacks, she was helping me a lot, but the REAL CHANGE ...

Recipe Failure?

How it feels like when you are perfect in some recipe and you get appreciation from people for making such a yummy treat...you are fully confident when making it again and... the recipe turns into a DISASTER? and still you have to feed people? Well the embarrassment is what I am feeling right now. I made kheer or you can say Rice Pudding. It is the most easiest recipe on earth as newly brides in our culture are told to prepare it the first time when they start working in a kitchen as it is No Fail recipe but look at me :(...I dried it all while having a cup of tea. Wow hubby just came and told me my brother in law (husband's elder brother) liked it...
